Our Story: From Tacos to Tim Tams... A Family Adventure
We are a proud family with Mexican roots and Australian eucalyptus leaves, a mix of spice and sunshine that found its way to the land of kangaroos and emus.
Our journey began with what was meant to be a one-year English immersion trip (papa bear, mama bear, and a nine-year-old little bear) but, as life would have it, destiny had a cheeky plot twist in store.
Just two weeks after landing, our little bear made an announcement that would shape the rest of our lives:
"We are never, ever going back to Mexico!"
And just like that, our quick adventure turned into a lifelong Aussie love story (sorry, tacos, but Tim Tams stole our hearts, specially the little bear one).
The Unexpected, the Magical, and the Just-Plain-Crazy
Our path has been paved with adventures, unexpected gifts (blessings), and a few plot twists worthy of a telenovela. One of the most beautiful surprises was a long-awaited pregnancy. A dream that refused to come true in Mexico but blossomed in Australia. Our baby bear arrived, fashionably late by 10 years after his big brother, proving that sometimes the best things take their time (like a well-risen bolillo).
Armed with hard work, determination, and the willingness to do whatever it took, from late-night jobs to paperwork marathons, we earned our permanent residency, securing our place in the land of koalas and eternal barbecues.
The Birth of Raining Gifts Design
Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by the transformative magic of fabric. I still remember watching my grandmother sew her own dresses and my mother stitch together her nurse’s uniforms for the operating theatre, thinking it was pure magic. So, when my husband gifted me a sewing machine, I had a lightbulb moment: why not sell cushion covers online? I launched my Etsy shop, and suddenly, what started as a hobby became a full-blown interior design love affair.
I quickly learned that you don’t need a fortune to create a beautiful space, just a dash of creativity, a sprinkle of love, and a willingness to turn "Nada to Prada" with a few well-placed details.
But our vision went beyond home décor. At our core, we believe that human beings are not just flesh and bones, we are entire universes in need of balance, joy, and a good laugh. That’s where holistic well-being became part of our mission.
Life is already serious enough; we figured we might as well add playfulness, humour, and a bit of mystical magic into the mix.
Meet the Dream Team
💡 The Numbers Guy (a.k.a. LucyFer): Accountant by trade, mystic at heart. His journey with diabetes and peripheral neuropathy led us down the road of nutrition and holistic health. When he's not busy with spreadsheets, he’s reading tarot cards, decoding astrology charts, or making sure we don’t accidentally turn our business into a circus (spoiler: sometimes we do).
🎲 The Board Game Guru (The little bear): If there’s one thing he’s taught us, it’s that learning is 1000% more fun when it feels like a game. He’s the reason we now see board games as more than just entertainment—they’re tools for learning, bonding, and plotting world domination (in the most loving way possible, of course).
🏎️ The Speed Tasmanian Devil (The baby bear): With a need for speed and a dream of becoming a race car driver, he introduced us to the exhilarating world of karting. What started as his passion has become a family obsession, proving that nothing symbolizes freedom, movement, and fearless leaps of faith quite like racing at full speed.
